Secret Sandstoune Cliffs of Gauja River National Park

(duration 5,5h, hikking ~7,5km)

One of the wildest corners of Gauja River National Park  that is what you gona hier about Līču  Lanģu cliffs. This hikking trip will bring you to the part of river Gauja valley where even local People don`t know about existance of those majestic, up to 25 metres high cliffs. Uphill and downhill hikes will Bring us to amzing views of this sandstoune cliff wall and  untouched forest. Bird bubbling, bever dams, crystal clear springs, wild animals  thats only part of this hidden treasure. As far as you will look, you will see indescribable beauty of wild Latvia.

Wild River Amata, Zvārtes Rock and Secret Soviet Bunker 

(duration 10h, hikking ~18km)

This hikking trip will bring us to Amata river in Gauja National Park. The riverbanks feature Devonian red sandstone cliffs, and rapids. It has one of the deepest and most unusual valleys of all the rivers in Vidzeme, with up to 45 m high sandstone and dolomite banks. Ainavu, Dzilnas and Incēnu are just few of the cliff names which you gonna visit. One of the steepest bank of Amata is the Zvārtes rock. It is more than 350 million years old.  Folk tales tell that Zvārtes rockused to be a meeting placeof witches on Whitsunday, St. John's Day and Christmas. On those days they rushed on brooms from pine forests of the surroundings. You will finish your trip in Soviet bunker - Soviet time secret facility with a cover name “Vacation Hotel”.  Bunker was built for the needs of political and state authority elite of the 1980-ies for state administration in case of nuclear war. After 8 hour hikking trip cross-Gauja river ferry will start our way back home. The cross-Gauja ferry by Līgatne is the only one ferry on the Gauja River at the time being and is a historical monument.

The Brasla River Valley

(duration 7,5h, hikking ~12km)

This hikking trip will bring you to the Brasla River which flows through a lovely,  approximately 300 m wide and up to 30 m deep valley. The river have the most beautiful rapids in the country, with mighty cliffs which can be  seen at almoust every curve of the river. At the left bank of the Brasla, oppose Brasla fish farm - there are the Aņīte cliffs - a series of sandstone cliffs which are 1 km long. The cliffs are between 2 and 35 m in height. On the right bank we will see major cliffs such as the Vāršavu cliff, the Kraukļukalns cliff, the Jāņavārti cliff, the Slūnu cliff, the Virtaka cliff and the Buļi cliff. We will hike down where Brasla river flows into the Gauja  longest river of Latvia.

Travelers note: the terrain is fairly extreme, part of this hike will be complete off-road.

Red cliffs of Salaca River Valley

(duration 8,5h, paddling 9km, hikking ~12km)

When you hear the name „Mazsalaca” the first that comes in mind is the beautiful valley of River Salaca . This legendary paddling and hiking trip will bring us to the Dauģēni cliff through the Skaņaiskalns Nature Park - the valley of River Salaca with colourful sandstone cliffs and many caves along the river banks, it makes one of the most magnificent places in Latvia. The Skaņaiskalns Nature Park is one of the most spectacular venues spreading for 3 km along the right bank of the River Salaca downstream from Mzasalaca. We will take a walk along the Kurbads trail and follow the story that 50 wooden sculptural images tell about the legendary strongman. Park also offers its visitors to see the Devil's cave, Wich pine and Angels cave.

Travelers note: In this trip you will see biggest White Stork Colony in Baltic States.
